Database Upgrades

The Database will shortly be updated, this is mainly to make it more efficient, easier to administer and give greater flexibility.

The item which may affect players is that when their registration is made it can now be set to expire 12 months from the actual date they were signed up, rather than when the form was processed. Currently the registration defaults to 12 months from the date the player form is entered by a retailer which may fail to follow the letter of the law.

Game sites who run there own memberships scheme will also be able to set an expiry date to line up with there own membership scheme expiry date for a player. The VCR Act requires you to be a member of an insured game site not registered on the UKARA database. Some sites with large memberships were suffering their own admin problems trying to keep theory and reality in line.

The Player form will be updated in line with this with a new registration ability with an extra box to allow an expiry date to be entered.

Retailers members registrations have also been tightened up to filter out proper business from those without the proper resources to trade properly.

Contrary to information I have read on one Airsoft information site UKARA is not an official government body and we are certainly not unfortunately on their payroll.

We are a official body recognised by the Government and used as a resource by the Boarder Agency to check imports and importers of Realistic Imitation Firearms into the UK.
